In the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, Kolkata Knight Riders' pacer, Kartik Tyagi, has pinpointed missed opportunities and a dearth of luck as crucial factors behind the team's lack of momentum. As they prepare to face Gujarat Titans, Tyagi stressed the necessity for improved intent and consistency.
During a pre-match press conference, Tyagi revealed that despite coming close in several matches, KKR is still in pursuit of its first victory. He acknowledged the role of luck in their losses and expressed the team's determination to turn things around. Meanwhile, Sri Lankan pacer Matheesha Pathirana won't be available for the next game due to logistical challenges, despite receiving his No Objection Certificate (NOC).
Reflecting on personal challenges, Tyagi spoke about overcoming a shin splint-related setback, which necessitated modifications in his bowling technique. He emphasized his commitment to continuous improvement. Tyagi also lent support to teammate Varun Chakravarthy, highlighting that every cricketer faces tough phases that ultimately contribute to growth and development.
