Cameron Green's late surge couldn't save the Kolkata Knight Riders as they succumbed to a determined Gujarat Titans side in their IPL encounter, getting bowled out for 180 on Friday.
KKR, eager for their first victory this season, chose to bat first, but their decision backfired. The Gujarat bowling attack, spearheaded by Kagiso Rabada and Mohammed Siraj, making inroads early on by taking three wickets in the opening four overs.
Despite Green's valiant knock of 79, which included seven fours and four sixes, no other KKR batsman managed to make a significant contribution. Luck initially smiled on Green, who was dropped once and survived an LBW appeal. However, his efforts were not enough, as the Titans' disciplined bowling dismantled KKR's lineup, securing a dominant win.
