Strengthening Diplomatic Ties: Pakistan and Turkiye Join Forces for Peace in West Asia

At the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Turkiye President Recep Tayyip Erdogan engaged in substantive discussions on advancing peace in West Asia.

Amid recent regional shifts, the leaders emphasized the importance of seizing current opportunities to establish long-lasting peace. Sharif briefed Erdogan on efforts to sustain the Iran-US ceasefire and resume dialogues for a comprehensive peace agreement. Erdogan praised Pakistan's diplomatic initiatives, reaffirming Turkiye's steadfast support.

The meeting, which underscored the strong historical ties between their nations, also touched on broadening economic cooperation. Joining them in Antalya were senior officials, including Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan. Sharif utilized the forum to discuss strategic issues with leaders from Qatar, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, and Syria.
