Kerala Sports Minister V Abdurahiman has asserted transparency in the sponsor selection for the renovation of the Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium, addressing concerns raised by Congress MP Hibi Eden over alleged mishandlings in the process.
Amidst Eden's allegations of 'shady dealings', Abdurahiman clarified that the Greater Cochin Development Authority (GCDA) has previously addressed all concerns regarding the renovation. The minister also mentioned inspections by a technical officer from the Argentina team.
Despite initial plans, it was confirmed that no match would occur during FIFA's November window. Extensive efforts are being made to complete the fire safety and security arrangements, ensuring the stadium meets FIFA standards for future fixtures.
