Karnataka's Chief Minister Siddaramaiah emphasized his administration's dedication to advancing sports during a keynote address at the India International Challenge 2025 Badminton Tournament. Announcements included improved incentives and employment opportunities for state athletes.

A prominent highlight was the increase in the sports quota for police recruitment from two to three percent, a move already resulting in the hiring of 11 athletes. The chief minister stressed Karnataka's pioneering rewards for international medalists, offering substantial cash incentives to Olympic and global competition winners.

Siddaramaiah reminisced about his sports background and expressed satisfaction in influencing policy to benefit future athletes. The focus, he stated, will remain on nurturing talent through robust grassroots programs and developing top-tier facilities. The event will run until November 2.
