In Rajasthan's Baran district, two police constables faced suspension for neglecting their duties in connection with the imminent Anta Assembly bypoll, according to official reports on Monday.
Baran's Superintendent of Police, Abhishek, confirmed the action against constables Mukesh Kumar Gurjar and Chandrabhan Sahariya, who were absent from their posts on a static surveillance team crucial for election arrangements. The SP criticized their significant neglect during a pivotal preparatory phase of the bypoll.
The upcoming Anta Assembly bypoll is set for November 11, with results expected on November 14. This election follows the disqualification of BJP MLA Kanwarlal Meena. BJP's candidate for the seat is Morpal Suman, while Congress has put forward former minister Pramod Jain.
