Greenland's Capital Airport Reopens After Bomb Threat
The airport in Nuuk, Greenland's capital, has reopened following an evacuation caused by a bomb threat. Police arrested a woman in connection with the threat but expect to release her. Such incidents are uncommon in Greenland, a self-governing territory of Denmark.
Greenland authorities have confirmed that the airport in the capital city of Nuuk has resumed operations after being temporarily shut down due to a bomb threat. Following thorough investigations, police reported no signs of any explosive devices.
In connection to the threat, law enforcement detained a woman in her fifties; however, officials communicate that she will likely be released shortly. The alert was first brought to the attention of authorities at 3:32 p.m. local time.
Incidents of this nature remain a rarity in Greenland, a large self-governing Arctic landmass under the administrative arm of Denmark.
