A passenger arriving from Bangkok was apprehended by Bengaluru Customs at the Kempegowda International Airport for allegedly smuggling hydroponic ganja worth Rs 3.89 crore, officials revealed on Wednesday.
The seized narcotics, weighing 11.11 kg, were found concealed within the passenger's checked-in baggage. The accused was promptly arrested under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, they added.
Although the individual's identity has not yet been disclosed to the public, authorities have confirmed that a thorough investigation is currently underway to uncover further details about this significant drug smuggling attempt.
