The Bengaluru judiciary has mandated the filing of an FIR against Home Minister G Parameshwara, stemming from a controversial remark at a state-level kabaddi tournament. This development followed a private complaint by H R Nagabhushan.
The 42nd Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Court has ordered the Kodigehalli police in Tumakuru to conduct a thorough investigation. The issue arose during a recent event where Dakshina Kannada outperformed Vijayapura in the boys' final with a score of 36-26.
Parameshwara, after the prize distribution, jestingly commented about placing a Rs 500 bet with the Deputy Commissioner on the losing team, which sparked criticism over the appropriateness of such remarks from a public figure.
