A fire broke out at a private hospital in the Salt Lake area adjoining Kolkata on Tuesday morning, raising concerns but fortunately causing no injuries.

The blaze, which erupted around 10 a.m. on the first floor of the hospital near Karunamoyee, prompted an immediate response with fire tenders rushing to the scene.

Patients were swiftly evacuated by hospital staffers and local residents even before firefighters arrived, ensuring their safety. A preliminary investigation suggested a short circuit in an air conditioner as a potential cause, although this is yet to be confirmed.
