A fire broke out at Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited's (HPCL) Rajasthan refinery, attributed to a hydrocarbon leak. The incident, which occurred in the crude distillation unit, was swiftly managed by emergency teams with no reported injuries.
The scheduled inauguration by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been postponed, as investigations proceed to determine the cause of the blaze, which was confined to a heat exchanger stack.
The company reassured stakeholders that the fire will not have a material financial or operational impact, and all refinery units remain structurally safe.
