Delhi Unveils Ambitious Air Pollution Mitigation Plan

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta unveiled the Air Pollution Mitigation Action Plan 2026, outlining measures to combat the capital's severe pollution issues. The plan includes strict enforcement of the 'No PUC, No Fuel' rule, restrictions on polluting vehicles, and a push towards cleaner transport systems and dust control mechanisms.

The initiative builds on the government's ambitious Green Budget for 2026-27 and integrates advanced technology like Automatic Number Plate Recognition cameras to enforce vehicular policies. Plans for expanding electric bus fleets and installing numerous EV charging points aim to significantly curb emissions in coming years.

Also highlighted are the government's strategies for improving last-mile connectivity and traffic management through smart technology. Gupta emphasized that clean air is a fundamental right, and the action plan represents a robust model for achieving environmental goals with accountability and public involvement.
