Delhi Government Ushers in Full Digital Reform for EMD Submission

The Delhi government has implemented a significant reform by moving the Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) submission process entirely online, announced Public Works Department (PWD) minister, Parvesh Sahib Singh. Previously, bidders had to physically submit EMDs at project offices, leading to inefficiencies and potential information breaches.

According to officials, this outdated system raised concerns about fairness and transparency in the bidding process. By digitizing EMD submissions, the government aims to remove unnecessary human interaction, ensuring clear and honest contractors receive fair chances, with public funds managed responsibly.

Singh emphasized that the new online-only EMD submission process will prevent any official or external body from tracking bidders, thereby eliminating bias, pressure, or manipulation. This shift signifies a move towards a more secure and impartial system, aligned with the government's commitment to integrity, efficiency, and transparency in governance.
