In response to declining educational standards, Telangana's Chief Minister, A Revanth Reddy, announced initiatives aimed at elevating education quality in government schools.
Speaking at a private school inauguration, the Chief Minister highlighted a concerning study that revealed only 6.7% of sixth-grade students can read their current class books, while the majority struggle with third-grade texts.
To combat these issues, the state government plans to introduce new pre-primary facilities and educational institutions with a focus on skills development, alongside allocating 8.3% of the state budget to education.
