Delhi's Green Vision: CM Rekha Gupta Advocates for Conservation

At a significant event marking the 122nd Foundation Day of the Indian Agricultural Research Institute, Delhi's Chief Minister Rekha Gupta urged a renewed focus on environmental conservation. Highlighting the importance of initiatives like tree plantation and rainwater harvesting, Gupta stressed the urgency of such measures in the current environmental crisis.

The Chief Minister praised the Indian Agricultural Research Institute for its pivotal role in bolstering India's agricultural sector. She acknowledged the institute's significant contributions from the green revolution to today's cutting-edge agricultural technologies, all while strengthening the nation's food security and self-sufficiency.

Gupta revealed plans for expanding Delhi's green cover, with 4,200 hectares of Ridge area designated for this purpose. She also called for the institute's support in enhancing soil fertility and promoting urban greenery. During the event, she released publications on improved crop varieties and floriculture and visited an exhibition showcasing modern agricultural innovations.
