Tragic Land Subsidence Claims Lives of Three in Dhanbad

On Wednesday, the bodies of three family members were discovered beneath debris, following a land subsidence incident in Jharkhand's Dhanbad district. The family's house collapsed in Tandabadi Basti on Tuesday evening, according to police.
Two homes had caved in under Sonardih police station's jurisdiction, but only one was occupied during the incident. Sadly, a 70-year-old man, a 35-year-old woman, and a 17-year-old girl perished. The exact relationship among them is still unknown.
Local MLA Shatrughan Mahto accused illegal mining of causing the subsidence, while Dhanbad's Senior Superintendent of Police Prabhat Kumar refuted, suggesting intense rains as the cause. Investigations are ongoing.
