Capture of a Notorious Sharpshooter: Ashu's Encounter with Law Enforcement

An alleged notorious sharpshooter known as Ashu, aka Monty, who had a bounty of Rs 50,000 on his head, was apprehended after being injured in a police encounter on Wednesday. This operation was a joint effort by the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) and Moradabad police. Ashu sustained injuries during the shootout in the Civil Lines area.

Police rushed the injured Ashu to a hospital. Known for a series of serious allegations, including attempted murder and demanding an extortion of Rs 5 crore from a businessman in Moradabad, Ashu was a wanted figure in the criminal underworld. His criminal dossier includes approximately 36 cases, stretching from murder to robbery.

Authorities confiscated a car, firearms, and a large collection of ammunition from his possession during the operation. Police officials revealed that Ashu's criminal activities date back to at least 2010, when he was first jailed for murder. His association with the notorious Udham Singh gang post-bail allegedly led to continued involvement in grave crimes. Investigations are ongoing.
