Leading Belgian patisserie chefs and chocolatiers have united to present chocolate-based edible artworks in Brussels. The 'Bel’Oeuf' event showcases complex sculptures and is spearheaded by Marc Ducobu and Carlo Ferrigno. Proceeds from the exhibition go to cancer research, blending art with philanthropy.
Belgium's capital saw a sweet artistic twist as 40 top patisserie chefs and chocolatiers gathered to exhibit chocolate-based edible artworks in an event named 'Bel’Oeuf'.
Initiated by chocolatier Marc Ducobu with the aid of Carlo Ferrigno from Hotel Amigo, the event's fourth edition embraced 'fun in movement' with sculptures like rocket ships and carriages, some using up to 18 kilograms of chocolate.
Michael Lewis-Anderson, a renowned British-Belgian pastry chef, expressed the versatile nature of chocolate as a sculpting medium. The exhibit, open to the public, supports cancer research via Televie, underscoring the societal impact of culinary art.
