Justice for Jharkhand: NCW Leads Probe into Heinous Crime

The National Commission for Women (NCW) has launched an inquiry into the alarming murder of a 12-year-old girl in Jharkhand's Hazaribagh district. The tragic incident, which has sent shockwaves across the community due to its brutality, occurred on March 25.

In response, the NCW has assembled a three-member investigative committee comprising former NCW member Mamta Kumari, law officer Manmohan Verma, and senior coordinator Kanchan Khattar. The committee is set to visit the crime scene on April 2 and engage with local authorities to gather critical information and insights. They have been urged to submit their findings within 10 working days.

NCW chairperson Vijaya Rahatkar has emphasized the necessity of an impartial and effective investigation, ensuring that those found guilty are subjected to the full force of the law. She stressed the importance of securing justice swiftly to uphold societal norms and protect the safety of women and girls.
