Opium Bust in Jharkhand: Man Arrested in Narcotics Seizure
A man from Uttar Pradesh was arrested with 1.85 kg of opium in Jharkhand's Garhwa district, which was intended for sale in Punjab. He was intercepted during a police vehicle check. His associate escaped, and the opium valued at Rs 9.25 lakh was seized along with a Punjab-registered motorcycle.

A 21-year-old man from Uttar Pradesh has been arrested in Jharkhand's Garhwa district with a significant quantity of opium. This arrest followed a vehicle-checking operation by the local police in the Ramna area.
The accused, identified as Ansh Shukla from Hardoi district, was apprehended while traveling on a motorcycle with another individual who managed to escape. Police intercepted them based on a tip-off that the opium was being smuggled to Punjab for sale.
A total of 1.85 kg of opium, valued at approximately Rs 9.25 lakh, was seized. The motorcycle, which bore a Punjab registration number, has also been confiscated. A case has been lodged under various sections of the NDPS Act, according to SDPO Satyendra Narayan Singh.
