Explosive Revelations: Suburban New York Man Arrested
Authorities discovered over two dozen improvised explosive devices in a New York apartment after loud booms were reported. Raymond Elders was charged with multiple offenses, including weapon of mass destruction use. The discovery raises serious community safety concerns, and Elders remains in custody as a flight risk.
A suburban New York neighborhood was rocked this week by reports of loud booms, prompting an investigation that led to a significant arrest. Federal prosecutors revealed that Raymond Elders was found storing more than 25 improvised explosive devices in his apartment.
Authorities encountered Elders, 65, who had apparent chemical residue on his hands and was wielding a lighter when they arrived at the scene in White Plains. Subsequent searches confirmed the presence of numerous devices, resulting in serious charges including use of a weapon of mass destruction.
Amid concerns over potential risks to public safety, a judge has ordered Elders to remain in custody. Neighbors reported hearing explosions for weeks, leading to police intervention and the eventual discovery of explosive materials within the residential area.
