Tensions Escalate at Maheshwaram Amid RTC Employees’ Protest

Tensions flared at the Maheshwaram Bus Depot in Rangareddy district when BJP workers faced off with police officers to support the Telangana Government Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) employees' strike. The confrontation led to BJP workers storming the depot and voicing slogans against the state government, demanding solutions for RTC employees.
BJP leader Andela Sriramulu spoke to the media, criticizing the state government's handling of RTC employee grievances. He highlighted a recent tragedy where an RTC driver, Shankar Goud, took his own life amidst the strike, allegedly due to governmental negligence. Sriramulu urged employees against such drastic actions, promising BJP's steadfast support until resolutions are made.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy expressed shock over the driver's death and pledged government assistance to the bereaved family, reiterating ongoing discussions with TGSRTC employees to address their concerns. Meanwhile, Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar stated that the government is willing to meet 29 of the 32 demands, urging unions to end the strike and engage in dialogue.
