Following a major political upheaval, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Sanjay Singh lambasted seven Rajya Sabha MPs who shifted allegiance to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), labeling them 'traitors' to Punjab. Singh, speaking at a press conference, accused the BJP of executing 'Operation Lotus' to destabilize the progress achieved under Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann's administration.

Singh sharply criticized the BJP, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Home Minister Amit Shah, alleging their involvement in efforts to halt Punjab's advancements. He urged the people of Punjab to remember the seven MPs who, he claimed, betrayed the state. He dismissed the MPs' reasoning for their defection as unfounded, questioning the credibility of their intentions to bring change.

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann echoed Singh's condemnation, stating that the defecting MPs do not represent Punjab. AAP national leader Arvind Kejriwal also criticized the BJP's actions, asserting that the ruling party had 'shoved' Punjab aside. Meanwhile, the renegade MPs, led by Raghav Chadha, defended their move, alleging AAP's deviation from its core ideology.
