The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Friday condemned the resignation of seven Rajya Sabha MPs, labeling it a 'betrayal of Punjab.' The party has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of manipulating the split and using central agencies to exert pressure on its leaders.

AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal voiced his concerns on X, stating that the BJP's actions betrayed Punjabis. On Friday, AAP Rajya Sabha MPs Raghav Chadha and Sandeep Pathak announced their departure from the party to join the BJP during a joint press conference.

Chadha revealed that nearly two-thirds of AAP's Rajya Sabha MPs had resigned, forming a separate faction. He highlighted that leaders like Swati Maliwal and Harbhajan Singh have also left. The BJP is accused of using 'Operation Lotus' to weaken AAP by exploiting central agencies. The desertion comes amid allegations of raids and coercion.
