In a strategic political maneuver, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its National Democratic Alliance (NDA) allies have embarked on a series of nationwide protests. This demonstrative campaign follows the setback of the Constitution (131st Amendment) Bill, 2026, which failed to secure the necessary two-thirds majority in the Lok Sabha.

Party insiders reveal plans for state units to conduct synchronized demonstrations at district headquarters across India, seeking to spotlight the opposition's alleged obstruction of a landmark chance for gender equality reforms. This initiative aims to bolster public backing for the bill and demonstrate the government's dedication to enhancing women's roles in legislative bodies.

The comprehensive protest strategy, set to initiate tomorrow, will utilize social media and on-the-ground rallies. The BJP Mahila Morcha will spearhead these efforts, with prominent women leaders actively engaging in grassroots mobilization. Additionally, the bill’s importance as a campaign issue is expected to resonate in forthcoming West Bengal and Tamil Nadu elections, contrasting the BJP’s support for women’s empowerment with the opposition's purported hindrance.
