In a fierce political showdown, Suvendu Adhikari, Leader of the Opposition in the West Bengal Assembly, condemned TMC General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee over derogatory remarks targeting the Election Commission. Addressing ANI, Adhikari dismissed the allegations, accusing the TMC of tarnishing constitutional institutions for electoral benefit.
Adhikari also countered Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's critique regarding the 'Matrishakti card,' suggesting TMC's discomfort stems from BJP's growing appeal among women voters. The TMC had previously criticized the Election Commission, dubbing it the BJP's 'real trump card' in West Bengal.
In response to ongoing parliamentary developments, Adhikari hailed the introduction of three significant bills, including the Women's Reservation (Amendment) Bill, labeling it as a 'historic decision.'
