In a sharp critique, CPI(M) Rajya Sabha MP John Brittas took aim at the Congress and its General Secretary, K C Venugopal. He suggested that the political climate in Kerala ensures leaders like Venugopal remain vital to Congress operations in Delhi.
Brittas's comments come amid speculation among Congress members, who have put forth Venugopal’s name for a potential chief minister candidacy, contingent upon a Congress majority in the Kerala Assembly elections. Despite the potential for high office, Brittas sarcastically reassures that Venugopal’s continued presence in Delhi is guaranteed.
He reflected on the last Assembly polls, noting the persistent trend in Congress's speculative maneuvers. The polls, conducted on April 9 for Kerala's 140-seat Assembly, await their vote count on May 4, which will provide a clearer direction in the political narrative.
