Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma, leading the National People's Party (NPP), is set to campaign in Assam's Boko-Chaygaon constituency for candidate Ganseng B. Sangma. The rally, scheduled for Monday, seeks to strengthen the party's presence in the region as NPP eyes expansion in Assam.
Party leaders convened at the Santi-Nijora Club to finalize campaign preparations. With senior figures like MLA Pongseng R. Marak and NPP vice-president I. Hemochandra Singh reviewing arrangements, the party expresses confidence in a growing base and increasing membership from other major parties, including the BJP and Congress.
The NPP, founded in 2012, continues rapid regional expansion. The party refutes claims of aligning with the BJP, reiterating its stance as an independent force aiming to provide an electoral alternative to the people of Assam.
