AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi has launched a scathing critique against both the BJP and Congress, asserting they are equivalent in their reluctance to endorse strong Muslim leadership in Assam. Speaking at rallies to support AIUDF candidates in Goalpara and Dhubri, the Hyderabad-based MP condemned both parties for the hardships faced by Muslims in the region.
Owaisi specifically targeted BJP leader and Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma for what he termed 'politics of hate' directed at a particular community. The MP accused the BJP government of executing illegal evictions that have displaced over 3,000 Bengali-speaking Muslim families under the guise of clearing encroached lands.
Further criticizing the Congress, Owaisi referenced initiatives like the controversial National Register of Citizens (NRC) and detention centers as having worsened the plight of Muslims. He emphasized that the support for AIUDF candidates is vital to halt such policies and to foster justice and equality for the minority community in Assam.
