BJP leader Nitin Nabin on Friday accused the Congress of fostering 'infiltrators' in Assam, urging voters to remember Congress' past governance during the state's assembly elections. Speaking at rallies in Kamalpur, Mangaldai, and New Guwahati, Nabin asserted that the BJP-led coalition would secure a third consecutive term under Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
He criticized Congress for indulging in vote bank politics by allowing infiltrators to settle, thus endangering women and land security. The BJP, on the other hand, has rooted out these infiltrators and initiated development work, according to Nabin. He claimed that the BJP has been instrumental in securing indigenous people's rights and driving economic growth in Assam.
Nabin also pointed out Congress' failure to support tea garden communities and border infrastructure development. Contrastingly, he praised the BJP for enhancing border roads and increasing daily wages for workers. Criticism was leveled at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for neglecting Assamese traditions, further cementing BJP's stance on regional pride and national security.
