Controversy Erupts Over 'Greater Tipraland' Proposal by TMP Chief

Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha criticized Tipra Motha Party leader Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma's proposal to create 'Greater Tipraland' by incorporating regions of Bangladesh. Saha argued this plan misleads the indigenous community during a tribal council election rally in Gabardi market, which witnessed a shopkeeper boycott.

Saha addressed alleged threats from TMP supporters that instigated the market boycott, highlighting that force cannot win voter support. He commended the Tiprasa Accord for promoting the development of Indigenous communities, while SNP accused TMP of confusing the public and questioned the perceived alliance claims.

Both TMP and BJP are contesting the tribal council elections separately despite being part of Tripura's NDA government. Saha questioned TMP's funding sources, asserting that justice will prevail with BJP's leadership. The council elections are scheduled for April 12, with results expected on April 17.
