Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha has declared that the BJP stands as the sole party competent to foster development in the tribal regions of the state. At an election rally for the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) polls in Gomati district, Saha criticized the CPI(M), Congress, and Tipra Motha Party for previously failing to substantively improve the lives of indigenous residents.

Highlighting BJP's initiatives, Saha noted that the state sanctioned 28 projects totaling Rs 200 crore for the tribal council over three years. However, he accused the TMP of fund misappropriation, citing a lack of utilization certificates for Rs 112 crore already disbursed. The CM further claimed that Rs 30 crore allocated to a modern hospital project remained inactive due to mismanagement.

Saha urged voters to support the BJP, underlining the party's investment in tribal welfare. Approximately 40% of the state's budget under BJP rule is allotted for the benefit of indigenous people, with a significant increase in Eklavya Model Residential Schools since 2018. The tribal council elections are scheduled for April 12, with results on April 17.
