In a sharp critique of the BJP, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah alleged economic favoritism towards the affluent under their political model. He reaffirmed his commitment to the underprivileged, promoting Universal Basic Income over the rival party's trickle-down approach.

Addressing media amidst election campaigning, Siddaramaiah shared that public responses have surpassed expectations, indicating a shift in voter awareness. He highlighted the Congress-led government's successful welfare initiatives, underscoring the funding allocations that rebut BJP claims of state bankruptcy.

The Chief Minister also addressed fiscal concerns, noting that Karnataka’s financial shortfall stemmed from reduced central allocations rather than excessive welfare spend.
