Tripura's political landscape witnesses heightened tensions as Chief Minister Manik Saha accuses Tipra Motha Party chief Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma of conspiring with the BJP to misappropriate funds allotted for tribal development. The allegations surfaced during an electoral rally aimed at the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC).
Saha criticized Debbarma for allegedly attempting to secure an alliance with the BJP in Delhi to exploit funds. Although offered seats, the BJP declined TMP's proposal, highlighting their significant political standing. Despite the TMP being a state coalition partner, it operates the tribal council independently of the BJP.
Saha claims the state allocates about 40% of its budget to indigenous welfare, yet asserts that development in tribal regions is minimal due to corruption. Emphasizing accountability, he vowed anti-corruption measures under a BJP government. Promising rapid development, the BJP seeks victory in the upcoming council elections scheduled for April 12.
