During his day-long visit to Odisha, Shah held marathon official programmes and crucial discussions with party leaders and poll candidates at the state's BJP headquarters.

Odisha's Rajya Sabha elections will fill four seats. The BJP, with 79 MLAs and some independent support, is short of eight votes for securing three MPs. Meanwhile, the opposition BJD leads its MPs and backs a common candidate. With the Congress and CPI(M)'s support, the stage is set for a contested election.
