Celebrating Odisha: A Cultural Extravaganza in Kolkata
Odisha Utsav, organized by the Odia Language, Literature and Culture Department, will take place on March 8 in Kolkata. It aims to promote Odisha's cultural heritage through folk arts, traditional performances, and cuisines, and will include recognitions of Odia writers and organizations in West Bengal.

The Odia Language, Literature, and Culture Department is all set to spotlight Odisha's vibrant heritage with 'Odisha Utsav' in Kolkata on March 8. The event, happening at the National Library auditorium, seeks to amplify the state's cultural footprint beyond its borders.
Odisha's Culture Minister Suryabanshi Suraj will inaugurate the festival. Odia writers residing in West Bengal and organizations of the Odia diaspora will be recognized for their contributions. The festival is poised to be a cultural feast, showcasing Odisha's folk arts, heritage, traditional cuisine, and exquisite handloom and handicrafts.
Performances by artists from Odisha will feature diverse cultural programs such as Odissi, Sahi Jata, Chhau, Ghumura, Dhemsa, Pashumukha, and Sambalpuri dance. Minister Suraj highlighted that the festival will not only boost cultural exchanges but also serve as a bridge reconnecting attendees with Odisha's rich traditions and cultural values.
