Union Home Minister Amit Shah convened with BJP members in Odisha to strategize for the Rajya Sabha polls slated for March 16. His visit encompassed various official events and a critical meeting at the BJP's state headquarters.

Discussions with the chief minister, MLAs, MPs, and three candidates focused on securing victory in the Upper House elections. While BJP named Odisha BJP chief Manmohan Samal and MP Sujeet Kumar as candidates, it also supported Dilip Ray, contesting as an Independent. Shah's reputed poll strategy was underscored by party spokesperson Surath Biswal.

The elections cover four seats from Odisha, with the BJP looking to overcome an eight-vote shortfall against the decisive threshold. Their strategy involves navigating the opposition, notably the BJD, which has 48 votes and fields Dr. Datteswar Hota as a coalition-backed candidate.
