In a remarkable showing, Telangana's Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy announced that the Congress has overwhelmingly captured 85 to 90 percent of the municipalities and municipal corporations in the state's recent urban local body elections, attributing this success to his comprehensive administration of the past two years.

During a speech at Sant Sri Sevalal Maharaj Jayanthi celebrations, Reddy suggested that the opposition BRS failed to grasp its electoral shortcomings, instead opting to blame voters for its losses. Highlighting his dedication to service rather than rulership, Reddy committed to another two decades of public service.

The elections marked a significant victory for Congress, as the party won over 1,300 wards in 116 municipalities, far outpacing the BRS and BJP. Plans are underway for constructing a giant statue of Sant Sevalal Maharaj in Nallamala forest as a tribute to his peaceful legacy.
