In a significant crackdown, Raipur police have detained six individuals for reportedly orchestrating a cheating scheme during the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) examination. This prestigious national-level exam was the target of the plot, which involved high-tech gadgets.

Officers revealed the operation after apprehending the suspects in possession of eight mobile phones, four Bluetooth-enabled devices, and three earpieces. Allegedly, the group transmitted questions to associates who supplied answers back to candidates in real-time.

Among those arrested are individuals identified as Darshan Sehwag, Sumit Sehwag, Laxminarayan alias Lucky, Amar, Narendra Kumar, and Bunty Kumar. The case is being investigated under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, with further inquiries ongoing.
