In a pointed appeal, Congress MP Manickam Tagore emphasized the need for mutual respect within the alliance with DMK, amidst growing friction over power-sharing remarks. Tagore underscored the human aspect of Congress workers and the expectation for respectful engagement from the DMK.
Despite the passage of more than 70 days since the Congress established a panel for seat-sharing discussions, the DMK's delay in forming a negotiation committee has contributed to the alliance's tensions. Tagore revealed media communications indicating DMK's upcoming plans for February 22 discussions.
Tagore conveyed dissatisfaction over the DMK's inaction against critical remarks made by its own ministers and stressed the importance of respect in maintaining the coalition's strength. He acknowledged the Congress’s crucial role in DMK's current governance and expressed hope for equitable treatment moving forward.
