Amit Shah Defends India's Trade Pacts; Accuses Congress of Misleading Farmers

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday took aim at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over accusations related to India's recent trade agreements with the US, UK, and EU. Shah labeled Gandhi’s statements as misleading, stressing that the government has protected the nation's agriculture and dairy sectors in these pacts.

Speaking in Gandhinagar, after launching India's first Central Bank Digital Currency-based Public Distribution System, Shah assured farmers that their interests remain safeguarded under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's governance. He criticized the Congress's past handling of trade agreements and highlighted recent tariff reductions as benefits for Indian produce.

Further, Shah emphasized new initiatives, such as grain ATMs and food security reforms, which leverage technology to ensure transparency and distribution efficiency in state welfare programs. He affirmed the government's commitment to expanding these measures nationwide, highlighting steps already implemented in Gujarat.
