In a heated statement on Tuesday, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann challenged claims from the BJP that have placed blame on Punjab for the smog enveloping Delhi. Speaking after a Cabinet meeting, Mann dismissed accusations as politically motivated moves aimed at demonizing Punjabi farmers.
Mann questioned the meteorological logic behind the allegations, noting the current wind directions and highlighting the unaddressed contributions from Haryana, situated between Delhi and Punjab. He urged for solutions beyond blame by proposing meetings involving states like Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, and Rajasthan.
Further critiquing delays in financial aid, Mann addressed the Centre's approach to flood relief funding and the political tensions regarding electoral rolls in upcoming elections, calling for transparency and fairness to strengthen democratic processes.
