The Delhi High Court has dismissed a case against academic Madhu Kishwar, deeming it a vengeful response to a prior complaint she lodged. The case, concerning an alleged altercation in 2007, was ruled to be a misuse of the court's resources.
Kishwar had initially filed an FIR against the Basoya family for rioting and criminal intimidation, following an altercation involving unauthorized constructions in Delhi. The high court noted that the counter-FIR accusing Kishwar of attempted murder was baseless and largely motivated by malice.
Justice Amit Mahajan's judgment emphasized that pursuing the case would constitute an abuse of legal procedures. The court affirmed the trial court's conviction of the complainants, who attacked Kishwar and her associates, marking the ruling final.
