Delhi's Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa announced the success of recent cloud-seeding trials, though these resulted in minimal rainfall in Noida. He criticized the opposition AAP, accusing them of jealousy over the BJP-led government's initiative.
The trials, executed with IIT-Kanpur's collaboration, have not yet resulted in significant precipitation in Delhi. Sirsa mentioned that previous governments failed in similar endeavors, but the current administration plans nine to ten more trials to determine the necessary moisture content for effective rain induction.
Despite skepticism from opposition parties regarding the feasibility of cloud-seeding in Delhi, Sirsa defended the trials' efficacy. A scheduled trial was postponed due to insufficient cloud moisture, indicating ongoing challenges in the project.
