In a dramatic incident in Rajasthan's Behror area, a group of individuals allegedly intercepted a pickup truck transporting camels, resulting in violence. The truck, registered in Haryana, was reportedly conveying eight camels, sparking claims from vigilantes that they were being smuggled for slaughter.
The confrontation unfolded near Sherpur village on the Jaipur-Delhi National Highway. Upon arrival, police discovered several distressing scenes: one camel was bleeding from the mouth, while the driver, Zahid, was purportedly assaulted before his attackers fled. Zahid, aged 30, asserted that he had acquired the camels from the Pushkar fair, intending to transport them to Mewat, Haryana.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident, probing the allegations of camel smuggling and the subsequent violence. This case underscores ongoing tensions surrounding livestock transport in the region.
