The Delhi government has taken a firm stance against the negligent handling of legal cases and vigilance issues by its officers, warning of strict accountability for any further slackness. Officials have been instructed to submit timely reports and ensure prompt legal interventions.
A recent review meeting highlighted several lapses, including delays in reporting crucial cases like the construction flaws in the Rohini judicial officers’ residential complex and the BRT corridor lawsuit. The heads of departments face accountability if these issues persist.
The Law Department criticized the late submission of files for legal opinion, which often arrived just before court hearings. It mandated that files be submitted a week in advance and specific queries be made instead of sending lengthy documents.
