Nashik's judicial system has extended custody for Ashok Kharat, the self-proclaimed godman embroiled in multiple accusations, until April 26. This current scandal signifies the sixth allegation of sexual misconduct against him, with significant financial deceit also under scrutiny.

Arrested initially on March 18, Kharat faces accusations of exploiting women under the pretext of possessing divine powers and knowledge of black magic. The recent case involves threats against a young woman who sought his help for her personal issues. Kharat reportedly coerced her with threats of supernatural retribution, manipulating her into providing personal identification documents.

Police proceedings cited security concerns as the reason for conducting court sessions via video link. The prosecution has emphasized the gravity of the allegations, citing cases of sedative use and ritualistic abuse. Kharat's attorney, however, argues that all cases involve repetitive claim cycles, while the prosecution insists each case features distinct circumstances necessitating separate inquiries.
