The Pune Police have registered a case of abetment to suicide against an unknown godman following the death of a 25-year-old flautist, Renuka Likhite. The student was found dead in her hostel room without a suicide note, sparking an investigation.
Renuka, a music student at a spiritual institute in Pune, reportedly transferred Rs 74,000 to the account of the godman in Rajasthan for occult rituals. These rituals were supposedly meant to solve her personal problems, according to police sources.
Investigators have uncovered threats made by the godman demanding more money, under the pretext that harm would befall Renuka and her mother if payments ceased. The probe into this tragic case continues.
