A prominent self-proclaimed godman, Ashok Kharat, finds himself embroiled in a series of legal battles as multiple cases of cheating and sexual exploitation have been registered against him. An FIR filed recently details how Kharat, along with associates and employees of a cooperative credit society, orchestrated unauthorized transactions in the account of complainant Narayan Ramchandra Ghotekar, amounting to nearly Rs 57 lakh. Vital identification protocols, such as Aadhaar and PAN card verifications, were reportedly bypassed during these fraudulent activities, raising serious questions about the complicity of financial institutions.
