In a decisive move, the Uttarakhand High Court on Wednesday underscored the need for improved sanitation in Nainital by directing Executive Officer Rohitash Sharma to conduct a comprehensive inspection.
Suo-motu cognisance was taken by a bench led by Justice Rakesh Thapliyal amidst growing concerns over cleanliness in the city.
As the court addressed a contempt petition filed by Manoj Kumar concerning delayed salary payments, necessary measures, including immediate placement of dust bins, were ordered.
